◉ Quality Assurance (QA)
Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of both manual and automated testing, with specific expertise in using the Cypress testing framework. An understanding of performance testing using Locust would be a great plus. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the high quality and optimal performance of our software products prior to release.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute detailed manual and automated test cases and scripts using Cypress.
  • Evaluate product functionality and create test strategies and test cases to assess product quality.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs to resolution.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements and ensure consistent project execution.
  • Utilize Locust to perform performance testing and analyze results, identifying any performance issues and suggesting optimizations.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve processes, systems, measurement practices, and metrics reporting for the QA function.
  • Work collaboratively within the team to promote innovative quality practices and methods.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in software quality assurance, including both manual and automated testing.
  • Proficient with Cypress, with a clear understanding of how to create test cases and scripts.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues creatively and independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with performance testing, ideally using the Locust testing tool.
  • ISTQB certification or any other related software testing certifications.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Rust Developer to join our fast-growing team. This role will focus on enhancing and expanding our single-platform tool. Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a remote work environment, is comfortable with the fast-paced nature of a growing startup, and is located within the US timezone.


Responsibilities:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Rust code to enhance our observability tool.
  • Work with the OpenObserve team to design and implement new features and services.
  • Provide technical guidance and insight to team members and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software.
  • Develop comprehensive testing suites to ensure the reliability and consistency of our software.
  • Collaborate with the team to manage and prioritize project components.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Rust developer.
  • Familiarity with open-source projects and the open-source community.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and observability tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Able to meet deliverables and drive your work to completion within specified timelines.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work well with a remote, distributed team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with log, metrics, or trace observability.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages like Go, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
